UNC Asheville pre-rendezblue 2018 Urban Programs

Held in August every year before the beginning of classes, new students are invited to get a head start on their UNC Asheville education by delving into the many aspects of their new community. pre-rendezblue offers special-interest programs that showcase Asheville. Participation in pre-rendezblue allows students to move in early to the residence halls and meet fellow students and staff who share their interests. Each program includes meals, instruction, equipment, and transportation.

What is the difference between an urban and outdoors program within pre-rendezblue?

We differentiate between the pre-rendezblue programs based on where their programming occurs.

Outdoor Programs: The Wilderness Experience and Blue Ridge Experience programs within pre-rendezblue are oftentimes referenced as outdoor programs because participants in these two groups will be camping off-campus.

Urban Programs: All of the other pre-rendezblue programs (Work of Art, Justice for All, Catcher in the Rhyme, Wellness in Action, All That Jazz, It's Easy Being Green or CSI: Community Service Involvement) are called urban programs because all programming for these programs will be held within the Asheville area (campus and city).

What do I bring to pre-rendezblue?

You will need to bring all the items you will need for your residence hall room for the academic year since you will be moving into your residence hall for the year. The room assignment you receive during pre-rendezblue check-in is the one you will have for the entire year. If you are NOT living on-campus for fall 2018, you will need to contact our office at 828.232.5131.

If you are participating in an Outdoors Trip, please refer to the communication you have received via your UNC Asheville email. You will also receive a packing list.

What's the refund policy?

Please read the following information regarding cancellation. These policies have been established because operating funds for the trip must be committed long before the trip departs and few (if any) of these expenses can be recovered from late cancellations.

If UNC Asheville cancels the trip due to insufficient registration, weather, etc., you will receive a full refund.

• Cancellations made on or before July 13, 2018 will receive a full refund minus a $50 processing fee.
• Cancellations made between July 14 and July 19, 2018 will receive a 50% refund.
• Cancellations made on or after July 20, 2018 will not receive a refund.

Please also note that any registration that has not been paid in full within 15 business days after the date of registration will be cancelled.

Is it ok if the name on my registration doesn't match the person who attends?

The name on your registration must be the name of the student attending the program.
